What is a Housekeeper's role?

Duties

A Housekeeper will be responsible for all household chores including cleaning, laundry, ironing, vacuuming, dusting, polishing, cooking and shopping as well as the general upkeep of the house.  
  • She/he could also be called upon to undertake house management duties such as organizing workmen and gardeners.
  • She/he will often be expected to be child friendly and carry out childcare and babysitting duties.
  • She/he may also have to be pet friendly as the role could involve feeding and walking dogs!

Rates of Pay

Typically, a Housekeeper can command salaries ranging from £300-400 net per week live in and £9 net per hour live out.
