Nanny-Housekeeper (Live-Out) — Belsize Park, NW3
A warm, professional family in Belsize Park is looking for an experienced, reliable nanny-housekeeper to join them on a permanent, live-out basis. This is a hybrid role: the centre of gravity is running a calm, well-organised household, combined with confident sole-charge after-school care for their two children.
It will suit someone who takes genuine pride in a smoothly run home, enjoys being around children and is dependable, discreet and self-directed.
The family
They are a busy professional household with two children:
Boy, aged 9
Girl, aged 5
Both children are in school during term time. They travel relatively often, so flexibility and a settled, trustworthy presence at home matter a great deal to them.
Hours & Schedule
The role follows two patterns across the year:
Period Days/Hours
Weekly total
Term time Monday–Friday 11:30am – 7:30pm 40 hours
School holidays Monday–Friday 8:30am – 6:30pm 50 hours
Paid annual leave is taken as agreed and paid at 8 hours per day, regardless of the seasonal schedule.
The 40-hour term-time week includes up to 3 optional hours of bathroom cleaning (see below) — by agreement, these can be swapped out if the candidate prefers not to take on bathrooms.
The longer holiday hours reflect full-day childcare when the children are not at school.
Occasional additional hours (e.g. babysitting) may be available by mutual agreement and paid separately.
Core responsibilities
Childcare
School pickup at 3:15pm and safely bringing the children home.
Walking the children to after-school and weekend activities (swimming, tennis and similar) and accompanying them throughout.
Preparing healthy meals and snacks for the children.
Supporting girl with piano practice and reading.
Providing occasional homework support for boy.
Maintaining the children's routines, managing their belongings and keeping their activity schedule running smoothly.
Encouraging tidiness — helping the children organise their toys and clothes and keep their spaces in order.
Household
Laundry — washing, drying, ironing and putting away.
Cooking — family meals and food preparation.
Cleaning, vacuuming and general tidying throughout the home.
Decluttering and organising — keeping living spaces, children's rooms and storage orderly.
Light outdoor work around the garden and patio (e.g. sweeping, tidying, watering — not heavy gardening).
Day-to-day household upkeep so the home runs calmly and is always presentable.
Optional
Bathroom cleaning is optional — up to 3 hours per week, included within the 40-hour term-time schedule by mutual agreement. If the candidate would rather not take on bathrooms, those hours can be redirected to other household tasks.
