Job summary: A family of four are seeking a caring, energetic and proactive daily nanny for their two children on a sole charge basis. The eldest child attends Reception full time so the primary care during the day will be for the youngest, with wrap around and holiday care for both.

The family is looking for an enthusiastic candidate who is experienced in supporting working parents. The nanny is to be punctual and reliable, with strong communication skills and a positive disposition. This is to be coupled with the belief that a child’s early life should include varied stimulation, and should be filled with kindness, positivity and consistent encouragement. The family is also keen to work with someone who has a genuine interest in early childhood development and who will aim to apply this interest to help the children develop into happy, confident and resilient people during this formative period.

Duties:

  • Caring for the children within the home as well as attending regular activities in the local community with the children, including, for example, visits to the park and toddler playgroups.

  • Collecting the eldest child from school daily (and occasional school drop-offs) and helping with homework.

  • Seeking out activities to help the children reach important developmental milestones, such as frequent reading, play, outdoor activities, social activities, cooking, painting and crafting.

  • Preparing healthy, varied meals and snacks for the children.

  • General childcare duties, such as changing nappies, maintaining a nap routine, washing/tidying up after the children’s meals and activities, laundering the children's clothes and ensuring the children’s safety at all times.

Candidate requirements:

  • The nanny is to be caring, punctual and reliable, with strong communication skills and a positive disposition.

  • Career Nanny or Junior Nanny that has experience and demonstrates longevity within roles.

  • Preference for candidates with a demonstrable interest in early childhood development/psychology, for example, through coursework or prior experience.

  • DBS and paediatric first aid at offer stage
